About Rick McGee

I am an Irish gent living in Naples, FL. The written word has always meant a great deal to me. I am one of those who writes a thought on a page, saves it to draft, then rewrites it again and again until it screams the message I want the reader or listener, to understand with complete clarity. While that sounds like hard work, it's also very rewarding! I've been writing songs lately and having a wonderful time collaborating with some great musicians.
I hope the Coach Bob stories: (Yardstick: A Life Measured), (The Independent) and (Few Regrets) make you laugh, cry and reflect on your own lives as you read about best friends making each other "earn their way" through life's ups and downs.
Many of my songs are about people - daughters, friends, mentors - who mean a great deal to me. Some are about lessons I've learned over the years and some are based on the Coach Bob stories. I look at songs as short stories where every word counts and has to work that much harder than a 300 page novel, to achieve my goal - make the listener feel something and think, or reflect on their own lives.
